A Glimpse From The Past: "Brue Lee"
The year was 1940 on the 27th day of November in San Francisco. A very ironic circumstance to put it since a Chinese blood baby was born inside the State of America. In addition, the date happened to be in the year of the Dragon and that very moment was exactly at the hour of the dragon. The baby was named Bruce Lee, wicked to say that he was born since prior pregnancies were miscarriages which they believed to be the work of evil spirits. So they didn’t took the risk and decided to name that baby Little Phoenix, a girl’s in Chinese tradition, to ward off evil spirits. After which, he was enrolled to a school for girls.
Bruce Lee finished primary academics in Edison Tech. School, Seattle. Bruce Lee put most his hours reading martial arts literature learning from it with the best practitioners worldwide. Bruce worked in a restaurant which he was allowed to stay in the attic in exchange for his services. After Bruce Lee quit at the restaurant he then started teaching martial arts classes at the age of 24 and wrote Chinese Gung-Fu: The Philosophical Art of Self-Defence. Bruce Lee studied only the martial art of Wing Chun with his master Yip Man.
Bruce was married to Linda, his classmate in Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy in 1964, and moved to live in California. His first born was Brandon which was followed two years after by Shannon in 1967. Bruce’s reputation from childhood as tough helped him become a star, also he had acting experiences. “The Big Boss” and “First Of Fury” made a humungous hit in all of America. After that, he became more famous with his “one inch punches” and “two-finger pushups” which he often demonstrated during parties.
Amidst the countless controversies of how Bruce Lee died, truth behind all was that he died when he passed out during a meeting with Betty Lie, while filming the movie Game of Death. He was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Bruce Lee was used to chewing hashish to suppress his nervousness that builds inside due to fans high expectations. Traces of hashish were found in his system. It was a trend those days aside from its real purpose amongst Asian men.
Upon Bruce Lee’s funeral, on July 25, 1973, there were around 25 thousand people who took part of his funeral procession. Bruce died several days before the release of his biggest hit movie “Enter The Dragon”. He was dressed in Chinese attire, the same to what he wore in the movie “Enter The Dragon”. The release of the movie was delayed by the producers 4 days further of the screening date.
